The short film "Bangamata" based on Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib premiered on her 93rd birth anniversary, August 8 at the National Theater Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The movie directed by Gautam Kairi and funded by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs was adapted from Khorshed Bahar’s novel “Bangamata Itihasher Neebrito Shoinik” (Bangamata the hidden soldier of history). The short film was scripted by Nasreen Mustafa,
Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky gave a welcome speech which kicked off the short discussion session on the life and contributions of Fazilatunnesa Mujib the wife of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Khalil Ahmed, Secretary of the Cabinet Division Mr. Md. Mahbub Hossain, Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid, among others were present at the event.
Parliament of Gazipur-4 Constituency and President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Culture, Begum Simin Hossain Rimi inaugurated the premiere show of “Bangamata”.
