Birangana’s speak in Spardha's latest theatre production

“Ami Birangana Bolchi” documents the tale of the oppression and exploitation of Bangladeshi women as an instrument of war at the whim of the Pakistani army and their local allies during the liberation war.

Spardha: Independent Theatre Collective's fourth production of Neelima Ibrahim's “Ami Birangana Bolchi'' is going to start from June 16 to 30 at the Studio Theater Hall, Bangladesh Shilpokala Academy. 

A total of 21 productions will take place during the period under the planning and guidance of founding chair of the Department of Theatre and Music at Dhaka University, Syed Jamil Ahmed.

After three long months of rehearsals, the production of Neelima Ibrahim's collection of stories from seven “Birangana” women will be presented. 

“Ami Birangana Bolchi” documents the tale of the oppression and exploitation of Bangladeshi women as an instrument of war at the whim of the Pakistani army and their local allies during the liberation war. Photography or video recording has been strictly prohibited to avoid disruptions during regular screenings of this production.  

The cast of the production includes Ruhi Ali, Sraboni Ferdous, Armeen Musa, Mohosina Akhtar, Sharmin Akhtar, Mohammad Sohel Rana, Sarwar Jahan, Sifat Nowreen, Zopari Lushai, Riasat Salekin, Umme Ayman.
