Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is presently in Mumbai with co-star Richard Madden to promote their upcoming spy thriller series Citadel, is returning home. In addition, the actress used the media gathering as a chance to address the controversy surrounding her widely-distributed podcast in which she talked about being victimized by Bollywood power players.
Priyanka clarified that she was discussing "the truth of her journey" and that because she ultimately moved on, it was simpler for her to express her feelings.
"I had a rocky connection with what happened. I made peace with it after I had already forgiven and gone on, she said.
Priyanka had mentioned that she was sick of Bollywood politics and "had beef" with some people in the most recent edition of American actor Dax Shepherd's podcast Armchair Expert, without mentioning any specific individuals by name.
Priyanka has been in show business for more than 20 years and is currently effectively developing her brand in the West.
Has she established any ground guidelines for herself at this point in her career? The performer was open about the fact that she no longer enjoys working with those individuals she despises.
"I have to respect, aspire to, and like the individuals I am around. I want to look forward to going to work," she declares.
"I have made it non-negotiable for me that I want to be motivated to go to work. I make notes when I first encounter the people I'll be working with. But as I've grown, that has really become something that means a lot to me."
After 2015's Quantico, Citadel is Priyanka's second significant part in a major Hollywood production.
Speaking about her time spent working on the show, Priyanka revealed that she enjoyed Citadel because it was "extremely ambitious" and that the discussion about it began about five years ago.
She admitted that she accepted the assignment before even looking at the script.
Priyanka, who filmed for the program during the COVID-19 pandemic, claimed, "I have left a part of my soul in it."
In the international series, which also features executive producers Joe and Anthony Russo of the Avengers fame and showrunner David Weil, Priyanka and Richard portray Nadia Sinh and Mason Kanin.
The six-episode program will feature high-speed, life-threatening stunts from both actors.
The Game of Thrones actor was quick to respond that he would like to attempt his hand at comedy when asked what kind of Bollywood movie he would like to be in.
Priyanka responded, amused by his answer, "I'm already thinking about it!"
Citadel will be available on Amazon Prime Video in a variety of dialects, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Beginning on April 28, the first two episodes of the series will air, with a new show airing every Friday after that
