Popular film actor Pori Moni in a Facebook post at midnight on Friday hinted at her separation from her husband, actor Shariful Razz.
It was followed by controversial writer Taslima Nasrin making a post on the social media platform, likening her life to Pori Moni's.
“Pori Moni's life is very much similar to my life. She loves, trusts, gets hurt, cries, walks away, trusts again, gets hurt again, cries again, walks away again and trusts again…. It is like a cycle. Honest, simple and sensitive people fall into this cycle,” reads her Facebook post.
“Pori Moni has stood on her own feet. If she cannot live alone with her head up, spine straight, then who else can? I made it… Many more have made it… You will be able to do it if you can love yourself… It is our fault – we do not love ourselves. No other animal in the world, only us girls, love our assailant and live with them in the same room, under the same roof!” Taslima added.
In her post, Pori Moni announced that she has had enough of being with her husband, Shariful Razz, and has separated from him.
“Happy 31st (December 31) everyone! I am giving Razz a break from myself and am removing myself from this toxic relationship. Nothing is more important than your own health,” reads Pori Moni's status.
The status sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry.
Many stars and fans urged Pori Moni to stay calm and take any decisions later.
The actor tied the knot with Razz in a private ceremony on October 17, 2021. The duo had reportedly fallen in love during the filming of the movie "Gunin”.
Later, Pori Moni confirmed her pregnancy in early January this year and announced that she would take a one-year break from acting.
They were blessed with a baby boy on August 10, 2022.
Taslima Nasrin, who has a degree in medicine, became popular after she started writing in the 1990s.
In the face of constant threats, Taslima sought refuge in the United States with the help of a non-governmental organization.
After being forced to leave Bangladesh in 1994 following the publication of the novel "Lajja", about the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh, Taslima is now living in India after staying in several countries.
