Dhaka DocSchool arrange editing workshop

Renowned Indian filmmaker and editor, Sankhajit Biswas conducted the workshop held in the seminar room of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from October 17 to November 2.

Dhaka DocSchool, a subsidiary of Dhaka DocLab recently arranged a seven-day-long professional workshop titled, “Creative Editing of Documentary.” Renowned Indian filmmaker and editor, Sankhajit Biswas conducted the workshop held in the seminar room of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from October 17 to November 2.

26 students from different parts of the country attended the workshop to get practical training on documentary editing.

After the seven-day-long workshop, a closing ceremony was arranged. Cultural personality and the chair of Dhaka DocLab and Dhaka DocSchool, Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bacchu; Trustee of Liberation War Museum, Mofidul Hoque; Deputy Director of Theater and Film Department, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Chakladar Mostofa Al-Masud; Director of Dhaka DocScshool, Tarek Ahmed and others delivered their speech on that occasion. At the event, participants received completion certificates.

Dhaka DocSchool mainly trains young people interested in making documentaries and at the same time, provides opportunities and networks for them. 

Dhaka DocSchool collaborating with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will arrange a four-month-long creative documentary course from January 2023. Participants in this course will later have the opportunity to attend workshops and make films with Dhaka DocLab and Liberation War Museum.

Aside from arranging these workshops, Dhaka DocSchool plans to introduce new courses on film editing, sound composition, and producing next year.
