Director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s much-anticipated feature “Hawa” will hit the local theatres in July, 2022. Lead actor Chanchal Chowdhury broke the news on his Facebook handle and posted his new character look.
A two-and-a-half-minute trailer was released earlier on June 7, 2022. “Hawa” marks Sumon’s directorial debut.
The star-studded cast features Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Razz, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan and Sumon Anowar in key roles.

The film was in development for three years. The pandemic further delayed its release.
Filming began in October, 2019 and almost entirely took place at the coral island of Saint Martin. The plot revolves around a group of fishermen who venture into the deep sea with a trawler and explore the prevalent sea mythologies. When they rescue a mysterious woman from sea, inexplicable things start to happen.
Produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited, the film was shot by "Monpura" cinematographer SA Kamrul Hasan Khasru.
