The 14th International Inter-University Short Film Festival (IIUSFF), organized by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), in collaboration for the fifth consecutive year with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), will start its Call for Entry from June 16, 2022. The festival started its journey back in 2007. With the slogan, ‘Take Your Camera, Frame Your Dream’, the goal of this festival was to provide a platform for university-going students and talented filmmakers in Bangladesh to showcase their filmmaking skills to a greater audience.

After 13 successful editions of IIUSFF, Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) intends to take it to a new height with the 14th edition of IIUSFF. The deadline for submission of the films is August 16, 2022. Any undergraduate or postgraduate student currently enrolled in a university, can submit a maximum of two films in each category at https://filmfreeway.com/iiusff.

Competition, Panorama, Short film on Refugee, and One Minute Short are the four categories in which films can be submitted. Except for the Short film on Refugee, all categories have 5 USD entry fee. South Asian filmmakers will be able to submit their films for free by a unique waiver code provided by the organizers. To seize the opportunity, filmmakers from these countries need to send an email to [email protected] requesting a waiver code.

Zahir Raihan Best Short Award, Tareque Masud Best Emerging Director Award, Short Film on Refugee (Winner and Runner up), Best One-Minute Short, Best Documentary Short, and various honorable mentions will be awarded to films selected by the juries.

Last year, the festival received 1310 films from over 95 countries.
