Trailer for director Anik Dutta’s film "Aparajito" dropped on the 30th death anniversary of master filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The film is a tribute to the late director's illustrious career.
It stars Jeetu Kamal as Aparajito Ray, who is trying to make his debut film "Pather Padabali." The film provides fictionalized versions of Satyajit Ray's attempts to direct his most influential film "Pather Panchali."
The script was penned by Anik Datta, Utsav Mukherjee and Sreeparna Mitra.
The monochrome film details Ray's struggles to convince financiars to make a film without a conventional romantic hero as well as song and dance sequences.
The young filmmaker had to stop filming "Pather Panchali" multiple times due to a lack of funde.
"Aparajita" will open in local cinemas on May 13, 2022.
