"Priyo Satyajit” (Dear Satyajit), a tribute film based on the legendary Bengali film director Satyajit Ray cleared the censor board in April this year. The initial plan was to release the movie on May 2, celebrating the birth centenary of the great director. But the film's premiere got rescheduled as that was the time of Eid and other big-budget films were to release on that occasion.

The movie "Priyo Satyajit" will now attend a number of international film festivals, including the prestigious International Film Festival of Kerala, India (IFFK).

The film will appear on screen for the first time at Vancouver South Asian International Film Festival (VISAFF) in Canada on November 12. The movie's international premiere will take place during the festival in Vancouver's SFU Theater.  On November 27, during the Florence International Film Festival (FIFF) in Italy, 'Priyo Satyajit' will have its European debut.

After the European premiere, the movie is going to make its Asian premiere in the second week of December at the IFFK. In January of the following year, “Priyo Satyajit” will screen at the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) in India.

The national premiere of the film will take place during the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF). Rainbow Film Society will arrange this renowned film fest from January 14 to January 22 next year.

“Priyo Satyajit” is a tribute film based on the inner world of filmmaking, where two film directors share their thoughts on the direction and other aspects of filmmaking on their visit to Satyajit's ancestral home. This movie revolves around the enormous impact of the legend Satyajit Ray on aspiring film directors.

Proshoon Rahman, director, script-writer, and producer of the movie, aims to release “Priyo Satyajit” in cinema halls on the occasion of Satyajit's birthday next year.
