'Raat Jaga Phool' to premiere at TSC on Feb 24

Director Mir Sabbir alongside his cast and crew will visit the TSC screening and engage in a Q&A with the audiences

Popular actor Mir Sabbir's critically acclaimed feature "Raat Jaga Phool" is set to premiere at the "Amar Bhasha Chalchchitra 1428" festival on Thursday, February 24, at 6.30pm. 

The five-day festival, organized by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), is being held at the TSC premises of Dhaka University. 19 contemporary and classic feature films and one documentary from both Bangladesh and West Bengal will be screened over the course of the festival.

The national grant-winning film marks Mir Sabbir's foray into filmmaking. He has previously directed telefilms and drama serials. 

"A dog witnessed a village boy being murdered and told 'madman' Rois all about it. But nobody believes what Rois has to say, and the court disregards the details of the murder," reads the official synopsis. 

Director Mir Sabbir alongside his cast and crew will visit the TSC screening and engage in a Q&A with the audiences. 

The cast includes Miss World Bangladesh 2018, Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Rashed Mamun Apu, Abu Hurayra Tanvir, Tanin Tanha, Shahid Shahriar,  Fazlur Rahman Babu, Dilara Zaman, Sharmilee Ahmed, Joyraj, Dr Ezaz, Naresh Bhuiyan, Ahsanul Haq Minu and others.

"Raat Jaga Phool" debuted in cinema halls across the country on January 15, 2022.

Moreover, Ritwik Ghatak’s "Komol Gandhar," Ronny Sen's "Cat Sticks," and Habibur Rahman's "Alatchakra" will be screened at 10am, 1pm and 3.30pm, respectively. 

West Bengal film "Cat Sticks" is to be screened for the first time in Bangladesh tomorrow, on February 24.
