Noted lyricist and astrologer Kausar Ahmed Chowdhury has passed away in Dhaka at the age of 75.
He breathed his last after a long battle with kidney issues on Tuesday around 9:45pm, his son Pratik told Bangla Tribune.
The famous astrologer had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhanmondi for the last ten days after testing positive for Covid-19 and contracting pneumonia.
He will be laid to rest at Azimpur graveyard in the capital around 10am on Wednesday, his son told media.
Gitikobi Shangha, an association of lyricists where Kausar was a lifetime member, expressed their condolences to Kausar’s family.
Celebrated astrologer Kausar Ahmed Chowdhury has been a household name for years because of his Prothom Alo horoscope readings.
He has written several famous lyrics for well-known singers and bands such as LRB, Miles, Samina Chowdhury, Lucky Akhand, Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, and many more.
"Kobita Porar Prohor," "Jekhaney Shimanto Tomar," "Rupali Guitar," "Aaj Ei Brishtir Kanna Dekhe" are some of his most popular songs.
