Bangladeshi popular actor Rafiath Rashid Mithila has been cast in the role of Lady Macbeth from William Shakespeare's tragedy “Macbeth” in an upcoming Indian film titled “Maya.”
This marks the actor’s first Indian project. She would be inducted to the group of prominent actors across the world who have previously played the iconic role, including Francis McDormand, Jeanette Nolan, Tabu, Marion Cotillard and others.

The first look for "Maya" featuring Mithila as three different women drew praise from netizens. The actor looked indistinguishable in knotty hair, wearing prayer beads and wielding a gun.
Directed by Rajoshree De, the film's plot revolves around a minority woman from Kolkata who goes on a mission to dismantle patriarchy after being raped.
The supporting cast of "Maya" features Gaurav, Kamaleswar, Rahul, Tanushree and others.
Filming was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.The cast stayed in Kolkata this year to complete the shoot from July 12 to July 28.
The film is currently in post-production.
