Prominent actor Jaya Ahsan bagged the Best Actress (Critics) award for her roles in 'Bijoya' and 'Robibar' at the Joy Filmfare Awards (Bangla), which was was held in Westin, Kolkata.
The 'Guerilla' actor had previously won the Best Actress (Popular) award for her performance in Bishorjon at the 2018 Joy Filmfare Awards.
This year, Jaya had to compete with Ishaa Saha (Sweater), Raima Sen (Tarikh), Subhashree Ganguly (Parinita) and Sohini Sarkar (Vinci Da).
In a Facebook post, Jaya wrote, "Honored and overwhelmed to receive the Best Actress award (Critics) in Filmfare Award East 2020 for the films Bijoya and Robibaar."
"This victory belongs to the entire incredible team of both films. Sincere thanks to the Jury for honoring me with this prestigious award and Thank you my audience for loving me always."
Jaya's stunning look on the red carpet also drew praise. The actor said that her saree was designed by Nighat Imam; and hair and makeup were done by Abhijit Paul.
Previously, OTT platform Hoichoi awarded Jaya Ahsan with the Performer of the Year prize for her performance in critically acclaimed films 'Konttho' and 'Robibaar.'
