Jaaz Multimedia is finally set to release two of their much talked about high voltage films this Eid, Boss 2 and Nabab, after facing a lot of controversies and adversities in the process. Shakib Khan’s Rajneeti will also be released on the occasion.
But unfortunately for producer Mozammel Haque Sarkar, his buzz making film Rangbaaz, which has been made targeting the Eid is not going to be released, confirmed the producer himself in an interview with a TV channel.
“The film will be reviewed by the censor board tomorrow but we’ve already decided not to release the film this Eid. We’ll release it later on any other good occasion,” said Sarkar.
But in a market that mostly relies on occasions such as Eid, why such a bold and sudden decision?
“There are only two days left until Eid and we don’t even have the clearance of censor board yet. Besides, posters and trailers are also yet to be prepared. With a situation like this, how can I release the film this Eid?”, replied Sarkar.
“Moreover, most of the cinema halls in the country are in control of Jaaz Multimedia, which is already releasing two big budget films this Eid. Naturally, they would be occupying most places. However, I could have managed four or five halls to release my film, which will barely be able to break-even,” he added.
Yet, the producer is looking forward to a good day in the near future, to release the film starring the Shakib-Bubly pair. According to Sarkar, he has invested in funds which amount to Tk4 crore, in making the film, thus promising a ‘time worthy film’ for his audience.
Produced by Ruprang from Bangladesh, and Shree Venkatesh Films from India, Rangbaaz (featuring Shakib and Bubbly in the leading roles) claims to not be a joint-venture film, even though it’s funding nature indicates that.
