Sisimpur is the Bangladeshi version of the world-famous American television show Sesame Street, which has been working for the skills development of children in areas like language, literacy, maths, social, cognitive and humanitarian in more than 150 countries throughout the world. The organization, Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, who produces Sisimpur is a Pre-primary Early Childhood Development program working with a mission to help children be smarter, Stronger and, kinder everywhere.
In 2010 Sisimpur has been rated as the most popular children’s program and was in third position among all genres of programs in a survey conducted by BBC World Service Trust. It has been evident in a long-term research conducted by ACPR in 2007 that the children who watches Sisimpur show regularly have displayed better performance in literacy and language, maths and socio-cultural skills than the children who are one year older than them but do not watch Sisimpur program. The expedition, development, and broadcasting of Sisimpur was made possible in Bangladesh with the support of USAID.
