Kangana Ranaut feuds with Anurag Kashyap

Anurag says he does not recognize this new version of Kangana

Update : 28 Jul 2020, 08:42 PM

On July 21, Journalist Anna Vetticad shared her old interview of Kangana Ranaut, in which the actor is seen defending nepotism and star kids in Bollywood after admitting that she herself has benefitted from the quota system in the educational field.

Kangana said in the video: “The kind of background I come from, my father is a businessman, my mother is a teacher, my grandfather is an IAS officer and my great-grandfather is a freedom fighter… When I was giving my pre-medical entrance test, I had a particular quota for me because I come from this particular family. When I come here, how I look at star children is that they have 30% quota, how I had. I am just trying to come into their territory. If somebody else tried to give the pre-medical test, they wouldn’t get that percentage of quota. This is how I look at it.”

The video was later shared by actor Taapsee Pannu and director Anurag Kashyap. Taapsee was called a B-grade actor by Ranaut in response.

Anurag wrote with regard to Vetticad’s tweets:  “This thread is exactly my point.”

In recent days, the director has been receiving criticism from Kangana fans who went as far as to call him ‘mini Mahesh Bhatt’. Anurag says, he does not recognize this new version of Kangana, who viciously goes after fellow actors.

“Here is mini Mahesh Bhatt telling Kangana she is all alone and surrounded by fake people who are using her, anti nationals, urban naxals the way they protect terrorists now protecting movie mafia,” Team Kangana wrote on Twitter.

The fight got uglier after Anurag Kashyap had claimed that Kangana refused a role in Saand Ki Aankh because she disliked sharing screen with another leading actor. The actor's team took to their Twitter page and called him out for allegedly 'lying'.

Kangana's team tweeted, "Just a clarification some woke liberals are busy lying about Saand Ki Aankh, Kangana never met @anuragkashyap72 regarding Saand Ki Aankh. Vikas Bahl and the director came to her house, she suggested that they hire senior actors, hiring young actors will be the same prejudice against elderly women the film intends to fight..."

"She sacrificed a good script but their desperation ruined an opportunity of a good film about grandparents and senior actresses lost out on work who need to be seen by audiences in a new light, shame on these jokers for spreading lies."
