Four talented singers joined forces to record a song about championing women. Elita Karim, Kona, Priyanka Gope, and Shusmita Anis rendered their diverse voices to Mahmud Khurshid’s lyrics and Fuad Naser Babu’s composition in Egiye Jaowa Nari, which is releasing on March 8, to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Popular singer Elita told Dhaka Tribune Showtime that Shusmita contacted her about collaborating on this song when she asked Kona and Priyanka Gope to come on board as well.

“The song is not Egiye Jabe Nari,” she said. “It’s Egiye Jaowa Nari. We are already ahead in many fields. This song celebrates that very fact.”

The video will feature women in different careers and in unconventional hobbies, she added.

The singer is joining Fuad and Friends tonight at the Joy Bangla Concert where they will perform a medley lasting for 35 minutes at a stretch.

The music video of Egiye Jaowa Nari, directed by Tvwala Media's Kolkata team, will also be released on Sunday.
