Ten popular musicians have recently lended their voices to Joy Shahriar's rendition of 'O Amar Desher Mati.'
The song is being released on the 50th anniversary of the independence of Bangladesh. Penned by Rabindranath Tagore, 'O Amar Desher Mati' had in the past inspired the people of Bangladesh to fight for their freedom.
Prominent musicians Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Kumar Bishwajit, Fahmida Nabi, Samina Chowdhury, Shafiq Tuhin, Elita Karim, Kishore Das, Somnur Monir Konal and Rehan Rasul collaborated on this project under the direction of Joy Shahriar.
A music video of this collaboration, directed by Borno Chakroborty is currently in development under the banners of Aajob Karkhana.
Musician Joy Shahriar said, "I wanted to pull off this project to mark the 50th anniversary of our independence. I am grateful to all the artistes who helped me along the way."
"I tried to keep the lyrics and tune of the original song intact. The song will be available on Aajob Karkhana's official Facebook page and YouTube Channel from March 24; and on all major audio streaming platforms from March 26," he added.
Joy Shahriar's rendition of 'O Amar Desher Mati' was dedicated to all freedom fighters.
