Prominent singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya has tested positive for Covid-19. The 63 year old singer confirmed she is doing quite well now.
Her blood sample was collected 12 days back. She will test for the virus again after two days. She hopes this time the result will confirm she is no longer carrying the virus.
The celebrated Rabindra Sangeet singer is currently a professor and founding chair of the Department of Dance at the University of Dhaka. A graduate of Chhayanaut and Tagore’s Visva-Bharati University at Shantiniketon, she founded her own music school Shurer Dhara in 1992.
Bannya won Ekushey Padak, the highest civilian award in Bangladesh in 2016.
