Actor Arifin Shuvoo will play the role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Nusraat Faria Mazhar will play the role of Bangabandhu's daughter and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, in the upcoming Bangabandhu biopic.
The Ministry of Information issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday and the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) published the official list of all cast members on their website.
Previously it was reported to the press that Fazlur Rahman Babu and Tauquir Ahmed agreed to join the cast to portray Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy respectively. Veteran actor Dilara Zaman was also cast to play the role of Bangabandhu's mother Sayera Khatun during the first week of February.

In other pivotal roles, Nusrat Imroz Tisha (Fazilatunnesa), Raisul Islam Asad (Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani), Ferdous Ahmed (Tajuddin Ahmed), and Misa Sawdagar (General Ayub Khan) have been cast.
In total, a cast of 50 actors have been finalized for the biopic.
Pia Benegal as costume designer, Shama Zaidi and Atul Tiwari as screenwriters, and Dayal Nihalani as assistant director, were recruited back in February.
Acclaimed filmmaker Shyam Benegal is set to direct this project. The governments of Bangladesh and India are jointly producing the feature film based on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Work on the biopic of Bangabandhu is scheduled to start this year on March 17 and is to be released by March 17, 2021, to mark his birth centenary.
