Oscar-winning Indian composer and musician AR Rahman has arrived in Dhaka to attend a concert marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The famous singer and record producer will mesmerize the Dhaka crowd at the concert, titled “Cricket Celebrates Mujib 100”, at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Rahman landed in Dhaka on Sunday night. He visited the venue on Monday.
He is scheduled to perform 35 hit songs in three hours, according to organizers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Cabinet members and dignitaries will be present at the stadium when Bangladeshi band Miles and singer Momtaz will also perform.
The concert tickets are available from Tk1,000 to Tk10,000. The gates will remain open from 3pm to 5:30pm.
The official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will live stream the concert.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken special security measures on the occasion.
Traffic movement will be restricted on the streets around the stadium, and from Mirpur 10 to Sony Crossing, and T&T Crossing to Proshika Crossing from 3pm till the end of the event.
