Jaya’s Bini Sutoy selected at International Film Festival of Kerala

Acclaimed Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan and popular West Bengal actor Ritwick Chakraborty starrer Bini Sutoy has been selected at the prestigious International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Another film Ek Je Chilo Raja, which also stars Jaya in a lead role, will participate at the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Jaya recently told the press: “The Kerala fest will start on December 6 and run till December 12 at Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. Each year, seven films of seven Indian languages are nominated at the festival’s Indian Cinema Now category. This year our film Bini Sutoy has been selected as the Bangla film in this section.”

The six other films selected in this segment are: Anandi Gopal by Sameer Vidwans (Marathi), Axone Nicholas by Kharkongor (Hindi, English), Mai Ghat: Crime No 103/2005 by Ananth Mahadevan (Marathi), Hellaro by Abhishek Shah (Gujarati), Market / Lewduh by Pradip Kurbah (Khasi), The Funeral / Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi by Seema Pahwa (Hindi).

Moreover, Premendra Mazumder, a renowned Indian film critic and vice president of the Federation of Film Societies of India, recently wrote a positive preview of the film on his personal Facebook profile.

He wrote: “Previewed Bini Sutoy - Without Strings/ India/ Bengali/ 2019/ 93M) and highly fascinated for its mesmerizing quality like a vintage wine which intoxicates thoroughly and sustains for a long time, submerging the viewer to immense gratification! Congratulations Atanu Ghosh for making such a brilliant film and having its National Premiere at the coveted International Film Festival of Kerala - IFFK! Bravo Jaya Ahsan and Ritwick Chakraborty for their extraordinary performance! Best Wishes!”

Apart from Jaya and Ritwick, the film stars Kaushik Sen, Chandrayee Ghosh, Kheya Chattopadhyay in important roles.
