The misunderstanding among the four members of the Film Grants Committee was resolved following a fruitful meeting with Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, at his official residence, on Thursday night.
The four members—veteran actor Mamunur Rashid, plus eminent directors Nasir Uddin Yousuf Bachchu, Morshedul Islam and Matin Rahman—who wanted to resign from their positions, joined the meeting.
After the meeting, committee members stated that they will continue their duties and stay in the committee. During the meeting, they discussed developing the film industry, increasing the number of films grants, and enhancing the grant amount.
The minister said he would take the necessary measures in this regard.
According to a press release, Information Secretary Abdul Malek was also present at the meeting.
