Director and actor Salahuddin Lavlu got elected as the new president of Directors’ Guild while SA Haque Olike became the general secretary.
This year’s election was held at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) yesterday to elect the 20- member executive body for official activities.
Lavlu won the position of president with 255 votes where his closest candidate was Sayed Awlad with 173 votes.
Director SA Haque Olike became general secretary with 202 votes leaving Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz behind with 179 votes.
Among the executive member, actor Gazi Rakayet (318) got the most number of votes in this year’s election.
For this election, filmmaker Amjad Hossain served as the chief election commissioner. Dramatist Mamunur Rashid and SM Mohsin acted as commissioners.
On the other hand, cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam performed the role of the chairman of the Appellate Division.
New election commissioner Mamunur Rashid informed that the newly elected committee will be effective for the next two years.
