Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom confirm split

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have gone their separate ways after spending nearly a year together. On Tuesday, representatives for the celebrity pair confirmed their split in a statement to People, “Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we want to confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking a respectful, loving space at this time.” The surprise announcement came after the duo posed together inside the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday night. However, they walked the red carpet separately. The pair’s romance became obvious last winter when Katy and Orlando were spotted on vacation together in Hawaii. Perhaps both the stars’ demanding schedules are to blame for the surprise split as Katy is in the midst of promoting her upcoming fourth studio album, with multiple award show performances and press appearances. Bloom, on the other hand, has dedicated much of his recent time to ongoing charity efforts with UNICEF.
