The effort was to honour the leading man in the disaster movie Twister, which inspired a generation of storm chasers.
The versatile actor who appeared in films including Aliens and Titanic, and played in HBO’s Big Love, died last Saturday from some complications following a heart surgery. With a Texas twang and grizzled visage, Paxton often found himself playing military men and cowboys. He was closely associated with James Cameron, playing a punk leader in The Terminator, as well as an ill-fated soldier in Aliens, a venal car dealer in True Lies, and a treasure hunter in Titanic.
Amanda Seyfried also paid tribute to Paxton in a statement to People. Seyfried and Paxton both starred on the HBO drama Big Love during the late 2000s. Her tribute to Paxton suggests that the Emmy-nominated actor made a big impact on her life.
She said, “He was an amazing and supportive father figure to me in my early career.”
“Incredibly inspired and full of life at every turn, he made you feel like everything was possible. This is a terrible loss,” she added.
