Daughters pay tribute to Mahmudun Nabi

Fahmida Nabi and Samina Chowdhury, daughters of the late playback singer Mahmudun Nabi are now ready with their new album. They have finished recording ten evergreen songs of their father. The album contains four playback songs – “Tumi kokhon eshe dariye acho,” “Tumi je amar kabita,” “Boro eka eka lage” and “Ogo mor modhumita,” and some of the contemporary songs like “Ami agun ke bhoy pai na,” “Onek shedhechi,” “Bhalobeshe keno dure thako” and “Tomar duhat diye” and two duet songs “Shurer bhubane” and “Diyechi mayer sneho.” Recording of this album has been done in Kolkata. The album will be released soon under the banner of Bengal Foundation. Samina Chowdhury and Fahmida Nabi previously released their solo albums individually featuring songs of their father. “I have released a solo album titled ‘Shurer Vubone’ featuring my father’s songs, while my sister Samina Chowdhury has released a solo album titled ‘Durpari.’ The albums received good response from the music lovers,” Famida Nabi said. “I hope the music lovers will find the songs of the upcoming tribute album entertaining.” Apart from the tribute album, another duet album of Fahmida Nabi and Samina Chowdhury will be released on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh this year. The album titled “Ek Akasher Gaan” will contain eight songs. The songs have been written by Julfikar Rasel and composed by Nachiketa Chakraborty. Pancham, son of Mahmudun Nabi, has done the music arrangement for this album.
