American comic book writer and Marvel creator, Stan Lee, 95, has been rushed to the hospital after falling ill at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday, reports TMZ.
The former Marvel Comics’ editor in chief was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center late that night. Lee was reportedly suffering from shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat.
Earlier this week, Lee appeared to be in good health at the red carpet of Marvel’s “Black Panther.” However, he was forced to cancel appearances at major events due to his illness, twice in the past year.
Nurses caring for him at his Hollywood Hills home accused him of sexual misconduct. The comic legend vigorously denied these accusations.
Lee was widowed in July 2017 when his wife of 70 years, Joan, died aged 95. The couple has one surviving daughter, J.C. Lee.
A spokesperson for Stan Lee has commented on the comic legend’s condition on Friday, saying that he “is doing well and feeling good, he is staying there for a few days for some checkups as a safety precaution.”
