Shibly Sadik's film “Ananda Ashru” starring Salman Shah- Shabnur was released in 1997, a year after the untimely demise of the heartthrob actor and has since garnered a cult following. Much to the delight of the film's fans, Dhallywood is set to get another “Ananda Ashru” soon, announced Mustafizur Rahman Manik, the director.
The “Mon Chuyeche Mon” director confessed his affection for the 90's blockbuster film, but despite sharing the same title, the new film is not a remake or sequel of the previous one, the new film will revolve around an original story, which is now being penned by Sudipto Saeed Khan.
“A film's title can be reused if the first release of the film passes a decade. I have applied for the title “Ananda Ashru” to the director's guild. The title has been registered under my name today (January 15),” said Manik “I just borrowed the title”
“Ananda Ashru” will also feature veteran actors Misha Sowdagar and Ali Raj. Principal shooting will start on the first day of February in locations outside Dhaka.
