Fans are observing the 27th death anniversary of prominent rockstar Salman Shah on social media on Wednesday.
The dynamic Dhallywood actor died on this day in 1996 at the age of 25, when he rose to the top of fame.
His real name was Shahriar Chowdhury Emon. He was born on September 19, 1971, in Jokiganj of Sylhet.
In his childhood, Salman Shah was a singer. He got a certificate in Palli Geeti from Chhayanaut in 1986.
The death of Salman Shah, known as the Shahrukh Khan of Bangladesh, from apparent suicide is still mired in mystery.
In 1993 Salman Shah and fellow newcomer Moushumi made their acting debut in the film "Keyamat Theke Keyamat." Directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan, the film was a remake of the Bollywood film "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak." Salman Shah's reputation as a romantic lead in Dhallywood was cemented by the success of the movie.
Salman and Moushumi's popularity as a "romantic duo" led to their casting in three additional full-length movies: "Ontare Ontare," "Denmohor," and "Sneho."
Later Shabnur and Salman Shah featured together in a series of box office hits, including "Shopner Thikana" and "Anondo Osru."
The late actor appeared in 27 films in a career spanning less than four years.
