“Game of Thrones” won’t be coming back before 2019 but that doesn’t mean Netflix won’t leave any stones unturned. With shows like “Black Mirror” and “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” coming back with new season, here is a list of original series to premiere on Netflix in 2018.
Altered Carbon
Based on the book “Altered Carbon” written by Richard K. Morgan, the story reflects on the bizarre realm of technological world and how it alters the meaning of death. Altered Carbon, set in three centuries in the future, deals with the story of how people can transfer their consciousness from one body to another. Takeshi Kovacs (played by both Joel Kinnaman and Will Yun Lee) is a body-hopping soldier who gets killed on a distant planet. He wakes up again 250 years later on Earth. He gets resurrected by a wealthy man named Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) who appoints him to investigate Bancroft’s own murder.

Seven Seconds
With all the racial tension in the world right now, “Seven Seconds” portrays an incident when a white cop accidentally hits and critically injures a black teenager. Tensions run high as the whole situation is made to be covered up and creates a sense of debacle around his murder. Regina King who plays the grieving mother of the teenager gives an intense expression on the teaser of the drama as she looks at the frozen strains of the blood on the snow stricken path.

Maniac
Remake of the Norwegian drama, “Maniac” is an American dark comedy which revolves around the life of an institutionalized man who lives a fantasy life in his dreams. Everything sucks!
Netflix surely knows how to bank on the success of 90’s nostalgia.
