Filmmaker and screenwriter Ashiqur Rahman recently earned the membership of Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG). He recently told the press that he is the first Bangladeshi to earn the honour.
The young filmmaker also said that he can now access all the facilities available from the guild if he wants to make a film in Australia.
According to Ashiqur, he applied for ADG’s membership while he was studying for his masters degree in Civil Engineering in Australia. On January 3, he got a mail from the organisation stating that his membership application has been approved.
Ashiqur also said that this is one of the biggest achievements for him as a filmmaker as he is the first Bangladeshi to receive a membership in ADG. The filmmaker also thanked the Bangladeshi film industry for helping him become a film director.
His notable films include “Kistimat,” “Gangster Returns” and “Musafir.” His two upcoming action films are “Operation Agneepath” and “Super Hero,” both of which star Shakib Khan.
