Julia Louis-Dreyfus ‘numb’ after making Emmy history

Update : 19 Sep 2017, 10:39 PM
Last Sunday night, Julia Louis-Dreyfus made history after winning her sixth Emmy in a row for Veep. With that, the actress has broken Candice Bergen’s record for a singular role to tie with Cloris Leachman’s record eight Emmy’s as an individual performer. After the ceremony, the Seinfeld star commented that she is “numb” about the historic achievement. She said, “I don’t know what to say about it other than I’m numb. I can’t believe it.” The actress also revealed her love for Leachman, the American actress and comedian who won eight Emmys in her career spanning across seven decades, “I adore Cloris Leachman. All I think about is her in Young Frankenstein going, ‘He was my boyfriend.’ I’m just incredibly honoured and amazed this has happened to me. It’s all very baffling and a (...) ton of good luck.” “God I hope so. Let’s hope that this is the beginning of something even better in our country and in the world because I think the world would be a better place if women were in charge,” she added. As a series, Louis-Dreyfus’s Veep also won big, clinching outstanding comedy series for the third year in a row. The series begins production of its seventh and final season, which is scheduled to come out in 2018.
