Many quarters of the society have come forward, extending a hand to the underprivileged and the needy, during the Covid-19 crisis in Bangladesh. Dhaka Tribune has taken a similar initiative and, along with contributing partner Junior Chamber International (JCI), launched the first phase of distribution among the underprivileged at Rayer Bazar on Thursday. With the funds raised from individuals and organizations, basic food and hygiene products were distributed with the help of voluntary organization Obhizatrik Foundation. Boxes containing rice, lentil, potatoes, onions, oil, salt, soap and reusable masks were distributed to 225 families, which would support them for two weeks.
