46th BCS preliminary exam likely after April 20

The 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination is likely to be held after April 20.

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Md Sohrab Hossain said they have taken all preparations to hold the preliminary examination. However, the exact date will be announced in the next week.

"The test will be held after April 20. We will confirm and then publish the final date,” he said.

According to PSC sources, the preliminary examination of the 46th BCS will be held simultaneously in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.

The 46th BCS preliminary examination was scheduled to be held on March 9, but was postponed due to the city corporation elections.

PSC sources said that 3,38,000 applications have been submitted for the 46th BCS examinations.

According to a notification, 3,140 officers will be recruited in different cadres in this BCS. 

Of the posts, 1,682 are for assistant surgeon, 16 for assistant dental surgeon, 920 for education, 274 for administration, 10 for foreign affairs, 80 for police, 14 for Ansar, 49 for family planning, 26 for fisheries, and 65 for public works cadres.
