Sadeka Akhter, ex-assistant director of Labour Ministry, passes away

She was admitted to Combined Military Hospital on March 21 after testing positive for Covid-19

Sadeka Akhter, former assistant director of the Labour Ministry, has passed away at a hospital in Dhaka, at the age of 75. 

She breathed her last at the Combined Military Hospital on April 1 while undergoing treatment, said a press release.

She was admitted to the hospital on March 21 being tested positive for Covid-19. 

Prior to joining the ministry, Sadeka served as a teacher at various educational institutions, including Siddheshwari Girls' High School in the capital.

She left behind her husband, three sons, two daughters, and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death. 

Her spouse Abdul Malek formerly served as chief scientific officer at the River Research Institute.
