The inaugural ceremony of artist Halimul Islam Khokon’s painting exhibition titled “Images of Inner Vision” starts Friday, July 20, at 6 pm at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka.
Artist Shahid Kabir will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Professor Syed Azizul Huq, of University of Dhaka will attend the inaugural ceremony as special guest. Artist and critic Mustofa Zaman will also join the inaugural program as guest of honor.
Halimul Islam Khokon is a seasoned ceramic artist who earned his MFA from the faculty of fine arts, University of Dhaka, and studied in Japan under the supervision of Professor Ryoji Koie, who is revered as one of the great masters of Japanese ceramics.
After participating in more than 40 group exhibitions and four solo exhibitions, Khokon, now an enthusiastic painter, will present 40 experimental abstract paintings in this exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to all till August 2, Monday through Thursday, from 3pm to 9pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am to12 noon, and 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The gallery will remain closed on Sundays.
