The budget size for the next fiscal year is expected to be Tk2,50,506 crore, which is scheduled to be placed in the parliament tomorrow.
The allocation has been increased by a little eventually on consideration that the investment needs to be raised to boost the economic growth, officials concerned said yesterday.
The budget for 2014-15 expects a GDP growth of 7.3%, which is higher than the revised estimate of 6.5% for the outgoing fiscal year.
Total budget deficit would be of Tk65,635 crore or 4.9% of the GDP estimated to be of Tk13,39,500 crore in the next fiscal. The deficit will be financed by banks borrowing of Tk31,509 crore and foreign loans of Tk34,130 crore.
To finance the spending, the budget estimates NBR and non-NBR revenue of Tk183,535 crore. Non-development expenditure is expected to be Tk169,987 crore and development expenditure be Tk80,310 crore.
