Mercantile Bank PLC recently held the 22nd meeting of its Shariah Supervisory Committee (SSC) at the bank’s head office.
The meeting was chaired by Prof Abu Yousuf Md Nesar Uddin, chairman of the committee and renowned Shariah scholar.
Distinguished committee members, including noted Islamic thinker Muhammad Zakaria and Prof Mufti Muhammad Abu Sayeed Khan, also attended.
Bank’s managing director Mati Ul Hasan, company secretary Mohammad Rezaul Karim, and head of Islamic Banking Division Mohammad Mijanur Rahman Sharker were present, along with senior officials from the Shariah Secretariat and the Islamic Banking Division.
During the meeting, the committee discussed key matters regarding the bank's Shariah compliance and made necessary decisions on relevant issues.
