Gold prices have increased again in the domestic market, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announcing new rates in line with rising international prices and higher local rates of pure gold.
In a statement issued on Monday morning, Bajus said the price has been raised by Tk2,216 per bhori, effective from 10am.
Under the revised rates, 22-carat gold now costs Tk261,040 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk249,143 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk213,568, and traditional gold at Tk174,785.
Silver prices, however, remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk6,707 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk6,415, 18-carat at Tk5,482, and traditional silver at Tk4,082.
According to the Bajus notification, the selling price of gold includes 5% VAT as set by the government and a minimum 6% wage determined by Bajus, which may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
The last adjustment in gold prices was made on February 21. With the latest revision, gold prices have been adjusted 32 times so far this year—rising 20 times and falling 12 times. In 2025, prices were revised 93 times, including 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Silver prices have been adjusted 18 times this year, with 11 increases and seven decreases. Last year, silver prices were revised 13 times, rising 10 times and falling three times.
