The 7th Walton Cup Golf Tournament-2025, sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and organized by Army Golf Club, ended on Friday night with the closing and prize giving ceremony.
In this year's competition, Brig Gen (retd) Md Zahidur Rahim emerged as the champion.
Additionally, Sharmin Jahangir won in the ladies' group, Shayla Ahsan was the best in gross score, and Josna Ara Neela was the runner-up.
In the junior group, Khan Farhan Ahmed won, and Rayim Al Mabrur was the best in gross score.
In the veteran group, the winner was Young Commander (retd) M Saiful Islam, and Colonel (retd) Mohammad Aminul Islam was the best in gross score.
In the senior group, Brig Gen (retd) GM Kamrul Islam won, Major (retd) Md Arman Ali Bhuiyan was the best in gross score, and Brig Gen (retd) Abu Sohel was the runner-up.
The chief guest, Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed, President of the Army Golf Club, distributed the prizes among the winners.
Present at the event were the Vice Chairman of the sponsoring organization, Walton Group, SM Nurul Alam Reza, and the CEO of the Army Golf Club, Brig Gen (retd) Syed Ahmed Ali.
This competition saw the participation of over 800 amateur golfers, both local and international, including 480 regular golfers, 76 veterans, 206 seniors, 42 ladies, and 16 juniors, with a total of 23 individuals being awarded.
