Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd has launched a new model of dual-band Wi-Fi routers in the market.
The router, modelled as “WR61i” comes under the packaging of “Torongo” brand name. The router at 5GHz band is enriched with high-performing technology that gives users a unique experience while using the internet.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Chairman (BTRC) Maj Gen Md Emdad ul Bari (retd) inaugurated the new Walton router model while visiting the Walton headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur.
BTRC Commissioner Brig General Iqbal Ahmed (retd) and Mahmud Hossain, director general of BTRC Brig General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewel and Brig General Md Aminul Haque, Walton Digi-Tech Industries Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, Managing Director SM Monjurul Alam Ovee, Additional Managing Director Liakat Ali and Computer Products Chief Business Officer (CBO) Touhidur Rahman Rad were present at that time.
Earlier in the day, a 10-member delegation from BTRC, led by its chairman, paid a courtesy visit to Walton. The delegation enjoyed a corporate documentary on Walton and also visited the product display centre and the production units of refrigerators, SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), PCB and laptop projects, mobile phones and mold and die.
After the visit, Maj Gen Md Emdad ul Bari said: “I am optimistic about Walton’s potential to achieve progress. Walton’s aggressive approaches and activities with IT products that we have seen today are praiseworthy and a matter of pride. Walton is making us proud and branding the country in the international arena with their IT products and services.”
The new, highly efficient router features four high-performance five dBi antennas along with wide area coverage. The router has multi-user, multi-input and multi-output (MU-MIMO) and OFDMA technology which enables the router to connect more devices at the same time. The router is priced at Tk4,550 presently.
