England's favourite way to start the day is with a traditional full English breakfast. In Ireland and Great Britain, a full breakfast consists of a substantial cooked breakfast meal.
It first became popular in English culture in the 19th century, many of the components of a complete breakfast have a lengthy history. A traditional full English breakfast is made up of Bacon, fried eggs, sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, and grilled tomatoes.
These dishes are typically served with a beverage on the side, such as coffee or tea. Though not traditional, hash browns and various condiments, such as brown sauce, are common additions. The British term for everything together is "Full Monty," and it well characterizes this robust breakfast.
Sausage
The British people love good-quality sausage for breakfast and it is called a banger. Compared to American sausages, these are usually thicker, coarser ground, and have a more intense savoury flavour. Though the term "bangers" dates back to 1919, it became more popular during World War II, another period in British history marked by a shortage of meat rations and the need to make sausages with cheaper fillers added to the mix, which increased the likelihood that they would explode when cooked—unless their skin had been pricked beforehand.
Bacon
There is no comparison to a traditional British back bacon for a full English breakfast. This back bacon is a combination of both pork belly and pork loin in one cut, the rounded lean bit on a rasher (slice) of back bacon is the pork loin and the fatty streaky bit attached to it is the pork belly. For decades, pigs in Great Britain have been bred particularly to produce the best back bacon cuts, turning the process of making bacon into an art form.
Eggs
Eggs are essential for breakfast as they are a good source of protein with 13 essential vitamins and minerals, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. The traditional option is sunny-side up, which lets the deliciously runny yolk blend in with the other flavours on your platter.
Baked beans
The classic recipe for baked beans calls for parboiled white common beans that are parboiled and then baked in a sauce for a lengthy time at a low temperature. Typically, white beans like cannellini or haricot are used to make baked beans, cooked in a tomato sauce along with spices and seasoning.
Veggies
English breakfast comes with servings of grilled vegetables like grilled tomatoes and sauteed mushrooms. This gives this filling breakfast a healthy dose of fresh flavour.
Along with these dishes sometimes some other dishes like a piece of black pudding pop up in the plate of traditional English breakfast. It is a type of blood sausage that combines beef or pig blood, fat, a choice of cereal and other ingredients.
