Texas and Bangladesh have a love for all things steak. If you have been looking for Texas-style portions and large cuts of meat, look no further than Texas Flame in Banani.
Serving prime cuts like T-bone, Ribeye, and Filet Mignon, Texas Flame offers delicious steaks paired with equally delectable sides. Whether you're in the mood for cauliflower rice, fries, or grilled veggies, they aim to recreate authentic Texan flavours.
"We try to keep the taste of Texas alive, focusing more on seasoning than marination," said server Tanveer Alom.
Food
We kicked off our meal with the cream of mushroom soup and loaded fries. Simple yet classic, the soup was just right. The roux that was thinned with cream had the perfect consistency. The creamy taste from the roux coupled with bits of mushroom hit the spot and the soup undoubtedly made for a memorable start to our meal.

Then, we had their loaded fries that had cheese oozing on top of freshly cut fries and meat sauce covering the first layer of fries. While we appreciated the generous amount of cheese, the meat sauce wasn't nearly enough, making it more of a cheese-fries affair.
Their T-bone steak with mushroom sauce is a good take on this classic steak, with the mushroom and pepper sauce working its magic on it. The sides we had with the T-bone included Mexican rice and mashed potatoes. The donness that was on medium-rare could have been a touch more tender, however still had a robust umami flavour to the meat, and was seasoned to perfection.
The mushroom sauce, had tender mushrooms come together with creamy garlic, makes for a delectable sauce to top off the steak with and to be able to relish the meaty taste. The pepper sauce also pairs well with the T-bone steak.
The Mexican rice was a good addition to the steak with a slight spicy kick to it, but the mashed potatoes won our hearts over. The potatoes were silky smooth in texture, seasoned just right, gives the right finish to both the steak and the rice making each bite satisfying.

Next, we had their rib-eye steak with a side of cauliflower rice and grilled veggies, and cheese sauce.
Seasoned well, the medium-rare cook on the steak was slightly off as it erred on the side of being more rare than medium rare. Both the cauliflower rice and the grilled veggies were tasteful accompaniments to the Rib-eye. The cauliflower rice especially tasted uniquely refreshing and the cheese sauce paired well with the steak.
We capped off our meal with two decedent shakes; a chocolate shake and a peanut butter (nutty) shake. The chocolate shake was just sweet enough, with the right balance of milk and chocolate, making for a remarkable chocolate milkshake.
The peanut butter (nutty) shake did justice to the peanut butter flavour with a prominent thickness to it.
The price range for a meal at Texas Flame is roughly Tk1,100 to Tk5000.

Verdict
Definitely try out their mushroom soup, their cauliflower rice and their grilled veggies. You could try out either one of their T-bone steak or their Rib-eye, just make sure to check that the donness on the steak, they’re certainly open to modification on the cook when asked, which is always a plus.
The price range is on the higher side, which is understandable given the location
and that they serve steaks mostly consisting of prime cuts. However, they didn't quite live up to the hype with their cook on the steaks, but there’s always room for improvement, especially when they’re this close to getting it just right.
