The price of cars may see a hike as the supplementary duty has been increased a lot in the proposed budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
The supplementary duty on the import of 2001 to 3000cc cars has increased from 200% to 250%. The supplementary duty of cars with 3001 to 4000cc to see an increase of 350% to 500% hike while the duty for cars over 4000cc will remain unchanged.
Supplementary duty on hybrid vehicles will also increase.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal revealed the information during his budget speech for on Thursday. The minister unveiled a Tk678,000 crore national budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
