IDLC Finance Limited, the largest non-banking financial institution, has partnered with four non-profit, voluntary organizations to provide dry food to 9,000 daily wage earning and lower-middle income families impacted by Covid-19.

The financial institution has taken an initiative to stand beside the daily-wage earners and lower-middle-class families with food and other essentials starting from May 5 this year.

Under this month-long food support program, IDLC will provide dry rations to 9,000 families across Bangladesh.

As part of the partnership Obhizatrik Foundation, CSR Window Bangladesh, Mastul Foundation and Sombhabona, will be the on-ground implementation partners to distribute the food packages among the families in 30 districts.

Each family will receive 10 days of food support which includes rice, lentil, oil, potato, onion, salt, and other necessary items.

Being a socially responsible organization, IDLC has been conducting several initiatives since the early days of the pandemic to tackle Covid-19 and its multifaceted impacts on the lives of low-income communities.

Last year, IDLC implemented a relief program through which 30,000 low-income people received food support for one week.

IDLC had also donated Tk2.4 crore to the Prime Minister’s welfare fund in 2020 to combat Covid-19.
