Laptop Fair 2016 begins in Dhaka

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. Expo Maker, the organiser of the fair, hosted the country’s largest laptop showcasing event styled “Techshohor.com Laptop Fair 2016”. “The world is moving forward in line with the technology revolution. To keep the mass population up-to-date with the latest technology, the government has to announce the right of accessing internet as fundamental right,” Inu said at the inauguration ceremony. Emphasising the expansion of local market, the information minister said: “The 16 crore population is an asset for the nation. We should initiate localisation of technology devices in mother language Bangla.” Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Mustafa Jabbar and Bangladesh Computer Samity President Ali Ashfaq were present at the programme as the guests of honour.
