Maritime ports asked to hoist cautionary signal No 3

Met Office warns of squally weather in coastal areas and advises fishing boats and trawlers to remain near shore

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as a low-pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal-North Odisha coasts.

Under its influence, squally weather may affect the Maritime Ports, North Bay and adjoining Coastal areas of Bangladesh, said a special bulletin of the Met office.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
