Maritime ports asked to hoist signal No 3

Squally weather likely over coastal areas; fishing boats and trawlers advised to remain close to shore with caution

Update : 04 Jul 2026, 04:15 PM

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three (R) as the low-pressure area over northwest Bay and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coast has intensified into a well-marked low.

Now it lies over the same area, said a Met office warning message on Saturday.

Under its influence, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
