7 Bangladeshis, 4 Rohingyas arrested along Assam border in India

They entered India with the help of a broker, say Indian police

Indian police have arrested seven Bangladeshi citizens and four Rohingyas from the Kadamtala Jerjeri area on the Assam-Tripura border through Naka checking in Tripura, India.

They were arrested during a raid in the northern district of the state on Thursday. 

Later, they were taken to the local Kadamtala police station, reports India TodayNE.

The seven Bangladeshi nationals are Rahman Ali, 30, Jannatara, 19, Khaleda Begum, 19, Majuma Begum, 17, hailing from Chittagong while the three others are Karima Begum, 28, Abbas Howlader, 35, Al Hafiz, 18, from Barisal.

The four Rohingyas from refugee camps in are Mohammad Alam Sa, 20, Kumira Bibi,18, Farida Begum, 18, and Shafela Begum, 18.

Three cars and the drivers of the vehicles were also arrested during the drive. They are Abdul Fatta Khan, and Matshir Ali from Kailashahar.

The detainees illegally entered India through the India-Bangladesh border with the help of a broker.
